Sofia’s Birth Story with Nova Birth Photographer
As a mom of three, I know the excitement and nervousness that comes with the days leading up to labor and delivery. As a Nova birth photographer, I get the same rush when the message comes from my clients as they go into labor, and I begin to pack my own hospital bag to document the excitement.
It was such an honor to be there for precious baby Sofia’s birth. I couldn’t be more thrilled to have been a part of her birth team and her birthday!
I was overjoyed for these sweet parents when I found out they were expecting their first baby. After much time spent in the wait, they succeeded with the IVF round that would lead them to their precious girl. It’s been so wonderful helping them document this special time over the last ten months.
Sofia’s Birth Story with Nova Birth Photographer
On the day of Sofia’s birth, Kate was 41 weeks and six days in to carrying Sofia. To say they were all beyond ready to meet this long-awaited little one was an understatement.
We all made our way to Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax, VA (their chosen birth center) for their induction and delivery. Kate and her husband chose an incredible team for their delivery, and it was such a joy to work with Katie, her wonderful midwife, and her DOULA Jaely. I can’t say enough amazing things about choosing to have a DOULA for your birth, but I’ll save all the pros for another post!
Kate worked incredibly hard to bring her baby girl into the world without any pain medication whatsoever despite having to be induced. We were all so proud of her tenacity and how she worked through her labor with the help of her team.
