The Motherhood Experience will take place in our natural light studio in Gainesville, VA, located inside of a private residence. Upon booking, the details and address will be provided for your convenience and planning purposes. On the day of the event you will be welcomed into the studio by the studio assistant.
Where are the sessions held?

Imagine a delicate, climbing floral backdrop to complement your images. Our floral designer will be installing fresh garden flowers in the studio designed to enhance your Motherhood portraits but not to deter from the focus of the images: you and your loved ones.
What kind of floral arrangement will be involved?

Yes! Each family will receive their online gallery from the event of 10 high-resolution, downloadable images within three weeks from the time of your session for sharing with friends and family. From the gallery you are also able to share, create a custom album or make prints as gifts.
DO WE GET THE DIGITAL FILES?

These sessions are designed to focus on Mothers. That may look different for each family, but we want to honor all mother figures. Please bring along any woman who fits that role. Dads are welcome to help little ones feel at ease, but the focus of the portraits will remain on mothers.
WHO CAN BE IN THE PHOTOS?

Each family will receive an online gallery within three weeks of their session. Your online gallery allows you the ability to share and download your images as well as make prints in a variety of sizes, canvases to be shared in your home and create custom albums delivered to your doorstep.
WHERE DO YOU SUGGEST WE PRINT OUR PICTURES?

Each session is designated for 15 minutes from your scheduled start time. Your family will be the only guests inside the studio. Please arrive early to ensure your full 15 minutes of shooting time. If you have more than 4 children, you're welcome to book two back to back slots.
HOW LONG WILL OUR SESSION BE?

Private appointments will be scheduled the week of The Motherhood Event to come and browse the studio wardrobe and try on your selections. You will take your selected piece(s) home and wear it to your session. We ask that you bring a change of clothes the day of your session so you can easily return your piece afterwards, and it can be cleaned and returned to the wardrobe!
If I enhance my reservation with the studio wardrobe, what does that mean?

Anything neutral and comfortable is fine! The goal is for these to be cherished by your family for years to come, so please dress your family in what feels the most like you. Some of my favorite places to shop are: Baltic Born, Zara, H&M, Gap, Old Navy, and even Amazon!
WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD(REN) WEAR?

Each session is designed to capture each mother and her children who wish to be included. However, if you have more than four children coming, we highly recommend you book two back-to-back time slots to ensure plenty of time for each child to be photographed!
DO I HAVE TO BOOK A DIFFERENT TIME SLOT FOR MULTIPLE CHILDREN?

Serving families in the Northern Virginia & Washington DC area at her studio in Gainesville, Virginia. Emily is available for travel throughout the Virginia, Maryland and DC areas.
