2014 IAPBP Contest

Each year the International Association of Professional Birth Photographers puts on a contest to find the best of the best birth images of the year, and I need your help choosing which image to submit! I have narrowed down some of my favorites (with the help of very generous friends) but need your help to choose the best image to represent my work!

  1. Number two – it says so much and its essentially the first family photo. Just love the emotion! <3

  2. Amy W. says:

Two!!! But they are all so amazing!!! SO beautiful!

  3. I’m torn between three (because it’s my own) and two. I love two because they are relieved and you can tell just overcome with emotion. It’s sooo good!!

  4. Lena says:

Baby on Mom, with dad’s hand on mom’s head. (Middle image!) It speaks volumes!

  5. Sami says:

    Girl. They’re all amazing!!! My favorites are 1. 2, & 3 🙂

  6. TahJah Harmony says:

You know that person that picks more than one when they say pick one….yeah I’m that person! haha

I love three, such a TRUE emotion I love her facial expression it really moved me. And that window light! I think this photo as a stand alone really shows your work as a birth photographer of seeing the intense pain and beauty and bliss through your photos.

I love how five is framed, and how much contrast in the lights and darks you have in that photo and a nice DoF.

Two is all around such a beautiful moment. It has such a great passion and moment to it.

(I’m so not helpful! haha…but I put them in ranking order for me personally!)

  7. Brittany says:

Torn between two and three! They are both incredibly beautiful pictures that speak so much!!! Good luck!

  8. I have to go with 5. Something about that black and white with me. Timeless. This was so hard though, they are seriously all amazing!

  9. Nicole says:

These are all SOO great, I want to critique and provide reasons why I like each one, but I won’t 🙂 Number 2 is perfect. It really tells a story. Baby is finally in momma’s arms, daddy is there, they are nursing, sharing a moment, LOVE IT. "We are on the other side, a new life ahead" I’m so happy for you and hope I can do this next year. You rock!!!

  10. S Becerra says:

Although I love three and the emotions the little baby is getting suctioned of secretions!! I think 5 is SO sweet but I know you have many more to choose from too!!! You are SO talented!!!

  11. Robin says:

    I think 2 or 5💕

  12. Sherry says:

One. But maybe black and white.

  13. Mark says:

    5 for sure

  14. Barb Rauscher says:

they are all incredible, have to go with 2 but will say 3 is very close, again they are all fantastic!!

  15. Sharon says:

Two! John 16:21 Whenever a woman is in labor she has pain, because her hour has come; but when she gives birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish because of the joy that a child has been born into the world.

  16. Megan Chase says:

Torn between two and five…. they are all SO gorgeous!
