Doug + Chelsea | Fredericksburg VA | Engagement Photographer

When I sat down to write this blog post there were about 20 stories that ran through my mind to share with you all about Chelsea and Doug. I could tell you how I’ve known Chelsea since I was in 4th grade, or how I used to envy her skills in elementary Art class, or in middle school when I was obsessed with her baby sister. One instance stuck out in particular though, this time we were just out of our freshmen year of college. We had taken a trip to the beach with our friend Jessica and her family. At night we would sit in the hot tub and talk for hours. I remember Chelsea telling us about Doug, the guy she was going to marry.
They had met freshmen year at Mary Washington and Chelsea was clearly in love with this goofy red-headed guy! I remember wondering how she knew she was going to marry him. At that point the thought of knowing who I was going to marry was completely foreign to me, but not to Chelsea. She had the kind of confidence about their relationship  (At 19) that most people can’t imagine experiencing at ‘such a young age’. We would ask her questions about Doug and their relationship, and she was so confident in her responses, regardless of our lack of understanding she truly showed us that she was committed to spending her life with Doug. I can’t lie, its pretty amazing that 5 years have gone by and I get to be the one to capture their engagement and their wedding day!
